Movie ProjectIn this video project I earned a lot about how to make a video and what it entails. I learned how to use the programs to make a good quality video. To start out this video my friend and I knew that we wanted to make a video together, but we had no idea what to do it on. We finally came up with the plot of a superstar comedian meeting her fans. What helped me out in this project was watching other people’s videos. I also liked the calendar we came up with and discussed in class. I really enjoyed this project for being able to gain the knowledge of how to use adobe flash, windows movies maker, and learning more in adobe photoshop. I also relished being able to learn more about the appreciation of art.

Political Cartoon
My Reaction To The Film Blackfish
My message for this cartoon was to show how Seaworld was telling us that they took good care of their animals, but all you see is the animals acting out. The trainers wouldn’t feed them, they were put in small pools that what they weren’t used to if they were born in the wild. And if they were born in captivity they were taken away from their parents after a few months of living with their families. Seaworld could’ve done so much more for the animals that they had in captivity, at least in my opinion they could’ve done better. I also tried to emphasize the fact that they lied to the public and the media, they tried to make everything seem like life was great, but in all reality life was hard and there was a lot to cover up.
My cartoon shows all these points by showing the little pool that Tilly is in and how it is cracked, it also has a sign that says only the best for our animals. I added Tilly frowning and looking, well not so happy or comfortable. I thought that this would get my point across that I disagree with Seaworld and how they treat their animals and even their trainers.
Information can be shared easily, through gossip, face to face, on the news, in an article, and even in art. I think that art is one of the best ways to share information and get your point across emotionally. Art can impact you in ways that you might not have noticed. It is similar to a song you might be listening to your favorite song, which for most people seem to make them happy and might even make them want to act out and dance. Then in the few seconds that the song changes you might be listening to a song that makes you feel sorrowful and maybe the way you act out is crying or your body language will show that you might feel melancholy. Art is similar, it can make different feelings arise inside you. Artwork is a great way to get information and even get someone on your side on a certain subject, because it impact you emotionally.
Creating art differs from viewing art in so many ways. When you create the art you might have a set meaning behind it. Other words you are bringing out your emotions through the brush or pen that you put to the paper. The people that are viewing your artwork might not get what you referencing at, and that is how it is different from creating the work. There are contrasting perspectives and prospects on the art piece.

Pre Historic Art History
Project Description
In this project I we started by watching a documentary of how dogs and humans became companions. We sketched wolves in our composition books as a class, and then sketched anything we wanted to put on our DP. Then we were lectured by Roxy on the history of art and what the general background was. Then we transitioned to what was different and unique about specific art pieces in different parts of the world. For example Venus of Willendorf was found in Willendorf, Austria. Some parts of her are unproportionate. Many people think that this is to show the parts that were very important and valuable at the time. The Cave of Bulls in Lascaux, France showed how people started using different perspectives in their art and made it their own. We also learned that even though you might have a specific image in our head we should still look up specific parts of the picture until we can draw or make the picture whole. I feel like the image trace tool really helped because I think that it is great that yo can compare different styles of how your picture would look without having ot redraw it or go into photoshop. It was very quick and easy and I think that it will be very useful to use for projects in the future when I need to compare different styles. I have learned a lot about myself as an artist. I have learned that I can picture what I want in my head and how I want the project to turn out, but I have trouble getting that on the picture and pulling the ideas out of my head and putting it on paper.

Self Portrait
While I was drawing this I had a lot of emotions. I have been going through a rough patch in my life and the way I can let my emotions out is by drawing. I drew this to showing that there will be storms and there will be times that you feel like you can’t get through and you feel like there is no hope and no way to move on. I drew an eye crying and in the reflection you see a person walking away. To me this symbolizes that people will pass and not all things in your life will stay or be the same. The overall feel of the picture is kind of lonely. I drew this at a train station because recently I have felt like I am waiting for things to come, but I am just standing in the rain waiting, hoping and nothing happens. But the whole gist is that things pass like trains, people, and emotions. This was a great way to get my feelings out and help me relieve stress. I try with all my art to make sure that it means something, whether it’s just me who knows it or everyone. I like to put all my emotions into it and really make it mean something to me.
Teacher Creature
This is the proof sheet that shows all of my original images. I used these images and transformed them to make my project.
For this project I had to do a lot of copy, paste, and erase. I searched large images on Google to find the all the pictures in my project except for the teacher’s face. After this I used photoshop to erase the backgrounds of the old photos and alter them the way I wanted for this project. I used the erase tool, warp tool, paint brush tool, burn tool, pen tool, dodge tool, text tool, quick select tool, smudge tool, blur tool, marquee tool, and the lasso tool. I copy and pasted the mouth and eyes from my teacher’s face and then pasted it to the lion picture. After this I needed to get the the hue of both layers to match. On the eye layer I used the pen tool and changed the color balance so that there was a yellow tint to the eyes. Then I went to the layer with the lion and changed the hue slightly to match the eyes more. The hardest part of this project for me was watching all the tutorials and having to go back to them. I am the type of person that wants to know all the facts without having to actually learn. I had only used photoshop once before and I really didn't know what I was doing. I had to go back to the tutorials a lot and get help to know what I was doing. I persevered through it and made a great project. I really liked all the different styles I could do, there were many ways that I could approach this and I could really let my imagination and creativity go loose. I have learned that I really like how we function, I like the students in a way lead the projects, we have a big say in what we do and our opinions matter.
Photoshop Tutorials Practice
This was a photoshop practice week that we did in class. We watched tutorials and practiced them until we knew how to do them in photoshop. Here are some tutorial that I did after watching the tutorials. I had a lot of fun doing these and enjoyed doing multiples to master the skill.
- For the vampire teeth I used the pen tool to make a specific selection. After that I used the warp tool to change the shape.
- For the cracked skin I got two images: one face and one of sand. I pasted the sand on the face and then put the color on multiply. Then I erased the excess.
- For the eye color I used the pen tool to select a specific space. Then I pressed control U to get the hue. I changed the hue and saved.
- For the hair I added a layer and put the color on soft light. Then I took the paint brush and choose my color and painted on the layer not the background. Then I saved after I was done changing the color.
Landscapes:
Understanding distance with scale and proportion.
I learned through this project that refining edges is very important. If you don't do this the project wont look as realistic because the edges wont look real. There will be edges that will be white or another color that wont look realistic or be good quality. I also learned that when you add small images and try to make them larger they will be very pixelated. As you can see the barn in my picture is very pixelated because it was very small and I enlarged it to fit the picture. This was a very fun project. I learned a lot and can't wait to do the next project.

Name Project
In this project we had to go outside and find things in nature that resembled letters in our name. We took pictures of the objects and then we uploaded them to photoshop. We edited them until we liked how the picture turned out. I used the crop tool to make the pictures smaller so that they would all fit. Then I used the gradient tool to do the background.
